Welcome to First Kids!

Our First Kids program is designed to walk children through the life of Jesus Christ and what it means for us to be apostles today. We are high energy and use many "play" activities to help our children learn about Jesus!

We welcome any First Pres members, community members, and friends of our church to sign up for this
faith formation opportunity. To learn more, you may contact our Children's Director, Megan Shaw, (704) 636-1321.

Each Wednesday evening, we guide children who are preschool aged 3-4 year olds through 5th grade. We do break out for age appropriate activities (3-4 yo, K-2nd grade and 3-5th grade).

This year, we will kick-off the program on Wednesday, August 19. We meet regularly on Wednesday evenings from 5:30pm -7:00pm. We serve supper, then we divide into groups for music, classroom time, play, service projects, art, and the FUN goes on!

Please note on August 19 at 5:45 we will hold parent meeting. We will go over expectiations, the program, and other opportunities for fellowship for parents. Please make sure to be here!

Here are a few more details:

All parents/guardians will sign their children in at our Educational Building entrance on 308 West Fisher Street entrance.

Our evenings are structured as follows:

5:30-6pm: Fellowship time, supper, smartie quizzes

6-7pm: Bible lesson, Crafts, Recreation, Music

7pm: Pick up at our Lewis Hall parking lot entrance on West Innes Street. We bring your children to you!

Our First Kids program is led by volunteers of First Presbyterian Salisbury. There is no charge for our First Kids program. Donations are always welcome to help offset the cost of dinner. We serve a healthy meal that includes many fruits, vegetables, and children homemade favorites.

First Kids Dismissal Request Form

In our continuing efforts to keep children safe, the Christian Education Committee requests that each child’s parent(s) complete the information below concerning their child’s dismissal from First Kids. Children must be picked up by parent(s) or other adults over the age of 18. Please include all names of those who may be picking up your child(ren) REGULARLY from First Kids. We have not had any incidents concerning the dismissal of children, but we certainly would like to avoid any unfortunate occurrences. Thank you!

Parent Covenant

As Disciples of Christ, dedicated to the nurture of children in God’s love, we commit to the following:

--To recognize all First Presbyterian Church facilities as part of God’s House and teach this to our children (buildings, grounds, furniture and supplies)

--To assume complete and total responsibility for the actions and behaviors of our own children during any church-sponsored event, either on or off campus (Sunday School, First Kids, Middle School and High School Youth Meetings)

--To accompany/supervise our children at all times when on church grounds until another adult assumes this responsibility
